LCME graduation 2026: a global celebration in Kuala Lumpur

On 25 April 2026, graduates, educators, performers and families from around the world came together at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre for the official LCME graduation ceremony 2026.

It was a celebration of dedication, growth and achievement in music and the performing arts. For everyone in the room, the day marked the same thing: the result of years of practice, discipline and a genuine love of performance, formally recognised at last.

A milestone, formally recognised

At the heart of the ceremony was the conferral of LCME diplomas by the University of West London. Each graduate crossed the stage to receive an academic award that reflects real commitment to their craft, and that opens doors to higher education, the creative industries and more.

The platform party included Professor Nicholas McKay, Director of the London College of Music at the University of West London, and Ben Norbury, Head of Exams at London College of Music Examinations, alongside LCME Chief Examiners and distinguished guests.

In their messages to graduates, they returned to a simple idea that music education is about far more than passing an exam. It is about passion, discipline, integrity and a love of the arts that lasts a lifetime.

An honorary fellowship

A special highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of the Honorary Fellowship of the London College of Music (HonFLCM) on Professor Maria Alexandra Chua, Dean of the Conservatory of Music at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila.

The fellowship recognises her outstanding contribution, dedication and lasting impact in music and arts education.

A community from around the world

Beyond the formal ceremony, the day was a chance to connect. Graduates met fellow musicians, drama practitioners, educators and peers from many different countries, serving as a great reminder of just how international the LCME community is.

The ceremony was proudly organised by International Stage Events, with David Cadlum Saraza, LCME Representative for the Philippines and Jakarta.

Thank you

To every graduate and family who took part: thank you for being part of this celebration. Your hard work, perseverance and love of the arts continue to inspire performers across the world.

This is what we mean by empowering people through performance, and the LCME graduation 2026 showed it beautifully.
