Summer 2026

  • Saturday 27 June – Practical exams

Exams venue

All exams will be at The Ship (address below). Please note that mobiles will not work at The Ship, so please call the LCME centre rep, Vanessa Martin-Adams, on 01189 814504 before arriving at the venue if you have questions or need assistance.

Information for candidates

  • Free parking is available at the exam venue. Best to use Google Maps to find venue, put in "Ship Inn Country Hotel, Ashford Hill, Thatcham".
  • There is a warm-up room and a piano in another quieter area of The Ship. We also have another warm-up room specifically for pianists.
  • We have a baby grand piano available for piano exams and anyone who needs to accompany an instrumental exam.
  • A digital piano is in the exam room for accompanists to be used for the Music Theatre/Pop Vocal exams.
  • Please bring your own device, if needed, for Music Theatre/Pop Vocal exams. Please be aware that you will need the Wi-Fi code even if you have downloaded on to your phone – just as a back-up.
  • A CD player with Bluetooth and USB is in the Waiting room in case needed and a spare boom box charged up if you forget to bring yours.
  • Please bring keyboard stand, a clip-on light, and your keyboard if you are doing an electronic keyboard exam.
