View session closing dates. Provisional exam dates are below. LCME will make every possible attempt to meet date requests, but they are not guaranteed. Please be prepared for your exam to be scheduled at any time within the exam session.

Spring 2026

  • Saturday 21 March – Practical exams
  • Sunday 22 March – Practical exams
  • To be confirmed – Friday 20 March (back-up afternoon)

Summer 2026

  • Saturday 27 June – Practical exams
  • Sunday 28 June – Practical exams
  • To be confirmed – Friday 26 June (back-up afternoon)

Winter 2026

  • Saturday 28 November – Practical exams
  • Sunday 29 November – Practical exams
  • To be confirmed – Friday 27 November (back-up afternoon)

Exams venue

All exams will be at The Ship (address below). Please note that mobiles will not work at The Ship, so please call the LCME centre rep, Vanessa Martin-Adams, on 01189 814504 before arriving at the venue if you have questions or need assistance.

Information for candidates

  • Free parking is available at the exam venue.
  • There is a warm-up room and a piano in another quieter area of The Ship. We also have another warm-up room specifically for pianists.
  • We have a baby grand piano available for piano exams and anyone who needs to accompany an instrument.
  • A Yamaha P140 digital piano is in the exam room for accompanists to be used for the Music Theatre/Pop Vocal exams.
  • Please bring your own device, if needed, for Music Theatre/Pop Vocal exams.
  • A CD player with Bluetooth and USB is there at the Hall, just in case needed as a backup.
  • Please bring a stand, a clip-on light, and your keyboard if you are doing an electronic keyboard exam.
