New LCME Musical Theatre Diploma 2025
We have released a new Musical Theatre Diploma syllabus, with entries opening for Spring 2025. The syllabus combines the previous Musical Theatre for Singers and Musical Theatre for Actors diplomas into a single qualification that assesses candidates as complete Musical Theatre performers.
Key changes include:

Removal of set repertoire requirements and mandatory number of pieces, allowing candidates to create their own programmes

Addition of a suggested repertoire list featuring over 200 pieces across genres and eras

Introduction of a presentation component replacing the discussion section for both in-person and digital exams

Removal of the Quick Study component at DipLCM level

Elimination of mandatory programme notes
The new syllabus maintains consistent requirements across in-person and digital exams, with candidates assessed on their complete performance skills, including singing, acting, and stage presence.
The current Musical Theatre for Singers Diploma and Musical Theatre for Actors Diploma syllabuses will remain valid until 31 December 2025.
