Equality, Reasonable Adjustment and Special Consideration
Making exams accessible for everyone
LCME is part of the UWL group, and as such, all policies and principles are aligned with UWL. For further information in relation to Equality, diversity and safeguarding, please go to Equality, diversity and safeguarding (uwl.ac.uk).
LCME encourages entries from candidates with disabilities and/or specific learning differences and is committed to offering them full support during the exam process.
The needs of candidates are addressed on a case-by-case basis, and all appropriate and reasonable steps are taken to ensure that any special requirements which they may have are put into place while at the same time maintaining the full rigour of the examination itself.
Information about a candidate’s disability and/or specific learning differences must be made available to LCM Exams at the time of entry. This should be in the form of a written explanation of the candidate's requirements along with a request for any particular alteration to standard examination procedure as appropriate.
Documentary evidence relating to the candidate's requirement from an authorised source, such as a doctor, psychotherapist or a signed statement from a fully qualified and chartered educational psychologist, someone with a special needs teacher qualification or a school SENCO/specialist teacher etc. MUST be included. All information supplied to LCM Exams will be treated as confidential and will never be divulged to outside sources.
If you prefer to post your documents, please send them to: LCM Examinations, University of West London, St Mary’s Road, London W5 5RF
Please note: If information is not supplied at time of entry, LCM Exams cannot guarantee to ensure that appropriate adjustments are made.
