LCME is relaunching Digital Live Exams

10 February 2023

London College of Music Examinations (LCME) is proud to announce that it is expanding its digital offering with the return of Digital Live Exams on 27 February 2023. The improved live digital exams experience at LCME will provide greater flexibility for candidates, allowing them to take LCME exams from anywhere in the world.

Dr Jonathan Drennan, Head of LCME & Chief Examiner, said, “This is an exciting development for LCME. We listened to customer feedback, and it was clear that there was a demand for digital live exams.

“When LCME initially launched digital live exams during the Covid-19 pandemic, it was very reactive, as we needed to quickly find a way to allow candidates to carry on their journey. As we’ve all moved on and adapted to this living with Covid world, we’ve now had time to think about what a tremendous digital exams experience looks like.

“LCME has had great feedback on the new digital exams platform that launched last December, which offers a digital recorded exam option, and I trust candidates, reps, teachers and parents will enjoy having even more flexibility. I can’t wait for them to experience the benefits of our new digital live exams offering.”

LCME has candidates in over 90 countries who attend in-person exams or submit digital exams.

Digital Live Exams will let candidates take their exams online in real time, with an examiner joining the exam remotely. This offering will help remove barriers by allowing candidates with difficulties in attending an in-person exam or with logistical challenges in doing a recorded exam to obtain professional music, drama and communications qualifications.
